About

My work is ongoing experiment. An investigation into complex systems and the rhizomatic connections between science, philosophy, technology and art.

I am primarily a video artist using film as moving photography, sound as music, failure and humour and the language of science and technology to explore how we understand the world. My hope is to undo mysticism, explore human fallibility and peoples desire for unachievable perfection.

There is no ultimate purpose, connecting the sometimes seemingly disparate is my work. I do not aim to impose a clear narrative on the viewer. Ambiguity, antinomy and the sometimes meaninglessness as a vital part of an ongoing investigation to dealing with uncertainty.

In my recent work I have explored the visualisation of sound and the melancholic nature of the unmusical and the silent.

This sadness, isolation and uncertainty captures something of the times we are all living through and my apprehension about the future we are creating, anxiety about time and my inevitable death.

Understanding is the ability to view things from different perspectives. If we can unpick our preconception and beliefs and widen our view this could free us from misconception, wake us from our slumber and offer us the real consolation of change.
